“In this day and age, we don’t need to teach Science to the new generation. There is an abundant resource of digital information available to do it. All we need to do is to teach them the methodology to approach Science and the technique to apply their mind to it so that they know what to look for in the sea of knowledge and learn to implement it to create solutions.

The world today is spinning fast at the pace of technology. We all need science to address modern-day challenges. Politics and cricket alone cannot solve our problems. At the moment we are relying on other countries to provide us with turn-key solutions and products which has made us dependent on them. It’s also a very heavy expense on our trade budget.

The  Lahore Science Mela organized by the Khwarizmi Science Society (خوارزمی سائنس سوسائٹی)  was a very enlightening event to expose the public to the spectrum of scientific domains and their application in our lives. It can go a long way in developing the mindset of our future generations to pursue Science. This was our first presence at this event and it has given me a lot of ideas to present next year insha’Allah.”

   “Frankly  speaking, I could not have imagined that a child who was out of the school system a year or so ago, got the accelerated program and is now competing in Lahore Science Mela along with other shining students from other great schools in Pakistan.

   TAKMIL participation in LSM means that it does not matter where you are born and who you are as long as you are given equal opportunities you can do wonders.

   Born and raised in Lahore, I was not given an opportunity to participate in any Science Mela. Thank you for providing this opportunity to our young talent.

   One more thing, most of these students would be traveling from their remote villages for the first time and Lahore would be the first city they would be visiting. When they grow up they would say

   “I visited Lahore first time when I attended LSM”

   LSM would give them an opportunity to create a history.”

   It was TAKMIL’s first time attending the event and participating in such an event provided our students with not only exposure, but also the confidence to present themselves in front of so many people as they travelled for the first time from their stations. Over 500 plus science projects were showcased and 4000+ people attended the event. Thank You for providing a platform for students of TAKMIL who showed the world that it doesn’t matter if you belong to a small village as long as you have the determination to fulfil your dreams! 20 TAKMIL students from KPK, Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab presented DNA models to show the world the “Secret of Life” and surprised thousands of educated people who couldn’t believe these children only got their chance at education a few years back.”

We faced an issue of dislocation of our stall in the very beginning which was resolved. It was amazingly great experience for us and students to witness such a large variety of science exploration and innovation at stalls, indoor and outdoor.

Not only the exhibitors but spectator students were excited on both days for the innovative ideas being shared. I would like to congratulate and wish my best regards to KSS and DPS for putting effort to make it a successful show.

“It was great to come here all the way from Karachi to attend this event. Everything was well organized but I want to highlight one thing the navigation on ground was something that could be worked on. Many people came to my stall to ask about where is the planetarium, cafeteria, this and that stall etc. Another thing there were no sitting arrangements for elderly around different places so I gave a couple of my stall chairs to different people who needed it. Other than this it was a very well managed and I hope to attend next time as well. Thanks 🙏
